ARTIST STATEMENT
The work returns to questions that do not resolve easily. Connection. Absence. What remains when words are no longer enough.
Some images meet the viewer directly. Others move through surface and fracture, where clarity is unsettled rather than denied.
In the portraits, I am drawn to the moment when a person is fully present and still beyond reach. In the landscapes, I look for what lingers in light and texture, where memory seems to surface and form begins to dissolve. I am less concerned with how a place appears than with how it is experienced.
I am not interested in spectacle. I am interested in staying with something long enough for it to reveal more than it first offers.
A tension runs through the work between exposure and restraint, between encounter and interior silence. What is visible matters. What resists being named matters just as much.
