ARTIST STATEMENT

The work returns to questions that do not resolve easily. Connection. Absence. What remains after words fall short.

Some images meet the viewer directly. Others are filtered through surface and fracture, where clarity is deliberately unsettled.

In the portraits, I am interested in the moment when a person is fully present and still unknowable. In the landscapes, I look for traces of memory embedded in surface, light dissolving form, atmosphere interrupting clarity.

I am not drawn to spectacle. I am drawn to what endures quietly.

A tension runs through the work between exposure and restraint, between encounter and interior silence. Meaning gathers slowly in what is seen and in what resists being named.
