THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION
The world feels fractured right now with trauma, hatred, and division everywhere. You see it in the news, in conversations, in the silence between people. It makes you wonder what still holds us together.
My work has always been about connection. In Dignity, I captured raw, human emotion through the eyes of those often overlooked. Introspection shifted the focus to presence and absence and how we show fragments of ourselves while hiding the rest. Memory works the same way: fleeting, elusive, leaving only traces.
Sally Mann’s Art Work: On the Creative Life reminds us that imperfections often reveal more truth than polished moments.
My upcoming book, Held in Bone, embraces this honesty, exploring what survives, what is hidden, and how the true self emerges in unpolished moments.
