MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

As the year winds down, I’m reminded how much there is to be grateful for. The Leepa-Rattner Museum show was a turning point for me. Having my work up for a full season gave me the space to rethink my direction, and the real gift was the friends I met along the way people who connected with the photographs in ways that stayed with me.

The Mario book came first this year and brought me back to the power of a single face. A long conversation with curator Julie Grahame followed and pushed me deeper into the introspective work I’d been circling for years. That eventually became Held in Bone, a portrait-driven look at presence, silence, and the weight we carry.

The Blue Ridge photographs evolved into Palimpsest, a project built on the idea that images can hold layers of memory rather than simple documentation. Making that book was cathartic and opened a new path for me.

I stepped back from a couple of exhibition offers so I could stay focused on my work, and that choice kept the year grounded. A new series is already underway, and I’ll share more soon.

I’m grateful for the momentum, the friendships that grew around my work, and the chance to keep making photographs that feel honest.
